We set silver-foiled stones into gold-plated brass and finish the metal by hand, bringing this royal-workshop craft within reach as accessible luxury.

Jadau Kundan was perfected from the sixteenth century in the royal workshops of Jaipur and Bikaner and in the karigar quarters of Gujarat, where the same craft is long known as Pachi Kundan; artisans pressed purified gold around each stone in a bed of lac so it sat secure without claws or prongs, the reverse often turned into a second artwork in meenakari enamel. Mortantra's pieces carry that setting tradition forward in gold-plated metalwork, holding each stone the way the craft always has.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated Jadau Kundan hathphool (hand ornament) composed of a central palm piece connected by chains to individual finger rings, all set with silver-foiled Kundan stones in white colourway. Flower and moon motifs are noted in the product tags and are consistent with the decorative vocabulary of Jadau Kundan work from the Rajasthan and Gujarat tradition. The hook fastening secures the piece at the wrist. The single-piece format is suited to bridal and trousseau wear.
