We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated ring set with Quartz Polki stones in a Kundan foil-back setting. The ring features a floral motif at the centre, rendered in the pale baby-pink colourway visible in the product image. The stone work follows the Kundan technique - uncut-look Quartz Polki held against silver foiling - giving the piece the luminous quality characteristic of the Rajasthani Polki tradition. The ring is suited equally to festive dressing and elevated everyday wear.
