We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated bangle with a deep black fired-enamel (Meenakari) ground, across which a row of silver-foiled uncut-diamond-look stones is set in the Kundan manner. The contrast of the matte black enamel against the bright stone line gives the piece a bold, regal character. A screw closure secures the bangle at the wrist. The piece sits within the Quartz Polki line, drawing on the Kundan-setting tradition of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
