We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated tassel earring pair from the Polki/Moissanite collection, featuring uncut Quartz Polki stones set in the Kundan technique with silver foiling beneath each stone. The Dark Green colourway introduces deep green accent stones or beads at the top cluster, lending a rich, jewel-toned contrast to the warm gold-plated setting. The piece drops into a slender tassel fringe, giving it a graceful, elongated silhouette. The push-back fastening ensures a secure hold.
