We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A small gold-plated maang teeka set with Quartz Polki stones in the Kundan tradition, where each uncut-diamond-look stone is backed with silver foiling to reflect light in the manner of traditional Polki work. The central cluster is framed by a fine gold-plated border. Available in multiple colourway accents - including Firoza, Light Green, Baby Pink, Purple, Red, Orange, and Dark Green - each variant is distinguished by the colour of its accent stones or enamel inlay. The piece fastens to the hair parting via a hook fitting.
