We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated small maang teeka set with Quartz Polki stones in a Jadau Kundan-style silver-foil setting, rendered in a floral and peacock-influenced form. The maroon and dark green colourways each introduce a distinct accent tone through coloured Kundan stones placed within the composition. The hook fastening secures the piece to the hair parting. The overall form is compact and ornate, suited to both festive and bridal-guest occasions.
