We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated small maang teeka from the Polki/Moissanite collection, offered in Light Green and Dark Green colourways. The focal stonework features faux uncut-diamond-look stones set in a Kundan setting with silver foiling, complemented by coloured accents in the respective colourway. Peacock and flower motifs are visible in the design, referencing the Rajasthani Polki jewellery tradition in a wearable, contemporary format. The piece fastens with a hook fitting.
