We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated small maang teeka featuring Quartz Polki stones set in a silver-foiled Kundan base, available in deep green and deep pink colourways. The central element is composed of uncut-look stones arranged in a compact floral-geometric formation characteristic of the Polki tradition. A hook fastening secures the piece to the hair parting. The format is delicate in scale, suited to both festive and wedding-guest occasions.
