We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated necklace set in the Polki/Moissanite tradition, featuring a central pendant-form necklace with faux uncut-diamond-look stones set in the Kundan technique with silver foiling. Coloured foil-set Kundan accents in the variant colourway appear throughout the piece, complementing the principal stonework. The set includes one necklace and one pair of earrings with push-back fastenings, and the necklace closes with a hook closure. Floral motifs are visible in the setting arrangement.
