We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated Polki/Moissanite necklace set composed of a layered pendant necklace and a matching pair of earrings. The Quartz Polki stones are set using the Kundan technique with silver foiling beneath each stone to replicate the lustre of traditional uncut-diamond Polki jewellery. The multicolor colourway incorporates varied stone tones across the setting. The necklace fastens with an adjustable thread/dori tie; earrings close with push-back fittings.
