We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated choker necklace set from the Polki/Moissanite collection, presenting Quartz Polki stones set in Kundan technique with silver foiling beneath each stone to replicate the lustre of uncut-diamond Polki work. The White colourway features off-white or mother-of-pearl toned stones against the warm gold-plated base. The set includes a choker necklace with hook fastening and a pair of earrings with push-back closures. The overall character is regal and full in presence, suited to bridal and festive wear.
