We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated choker-weight necklace set comprising a necklace and a pair of earrings, with Quartz Polki stones set in the Kundan technique using silver foiling to impart a lustrous, regal finish. Accent zircons complement the central stone-work. The necklace fastens with an adjustable thread/dori tie; the earrings close with a push-back fitting.
