We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated Quartz Polki necklace set comprising one necklace and one pair of earrings, rendered in an all-white stone palette. The uncut-look Quartz Polki stones are set using the Kundan technique - each stone backed with silver foiling - producing the lustrous, softly diffused quality characteristic of the Polki tradition. The necklace closes with an adjustable thread/dori tie; the earrings feature push-back fastenings. The layered, princess-length silhouette gives the set a bridal weight presence suited to festive and ceremonial occasions.
