We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated layered necklace set comprising a princess-length necklace and a pair of earrings, set with Quartz Polki stones in a Kundan-style silver-foiled setting alongside faceted AAA zircons. The colourway is white, with the uncut-stone-look Polki panels lending a regal, textural presence to the overall composition. The finish is warm gold-plated throughout, consistent with the Polki/Moissanite collection's aesthetic of accessible heritage luxury.
