We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated ring set with Quartz Polki stones in the Kundan tradition, using silver foiling beneath the uncut-diamond-look stones to produce the characteristic lustre of the Polki aesthetic. AAA zircon accents frame the central stonework. The piece is finished in an antique gold tone and is available in White, Light Green, and Black colourways, each distinguished by the colour of the foiled Kundan stones. The form is compact and ring-scaled, suited to everyday heritage and festival wear.
