We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated choker necklace set in the Polki/Moissanite tradition, featuring Quartz Polki stones set in a Kundan technique with silver foiling beneath each stone for lustre. The colourway presents light green-toned stones throughout the necklace and accompanying earrings, with floral motifs forming the central design vocabulary. The necklace fastens with an adjustable thread/dori tie; the earrings carry push-back posts.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0473/3314/6791/files/PK-S451LGR_169eeb99-6398-4937-a81e-af884d5f6d77.jpg?v=1784378321
