We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated long necklace set from the Polki/Moissanite collection, featuring uncut Quartz Polki stones set in the Kundan technique with silver foiling to lend the characteristic lustre of traditional polki work. The piece is composed in a layered, haram-length format and is accompanied by a pair of matching earrings. The colourway is dark green, with colour-foiled Kundan accents providing tonal depth across the set. The necklace fastens with an adjustable thread/dori tie; the earrings carry push-back fastenings.
