We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated Passa set with silver-foiled Kundan stones in the Quartz Polki tradition, featuring a dark green coloured accent and an off-white drop element. The piece follows the Kundan-setting technique - uncut-look Quartz Polki stones placed over silver foiling - and is designed to be worn as a side hair ornament secured with a hook fastening. The combination of the deep green tone against the warm gold-plated base gives the passa a rich, festive character suited to bridal and ceremonial occasions.
