We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated Sheeshphool set in the Kundan tradition, where Quartz Polki stones are foil-backed to replicate the lustre of uncut diamonds. The piece is rendered in a dark green colourway, with floral motifs forming the principal arrangement across the head ornament. Silver foiling beneath each stone lends depth and reflectivity characteristic of the Polki heritage. It fastens with a hook fitting at the back.
