We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated sheeshphool (mathapatti) set with uncut Quartz Polki stones in the Kundan setting tradition, foil-backed to render the characteristic lustre of the style. The piece is presented in a dark green colourway, with the foiled stones arranged in a floral cluster composition across the head ornament. A hook fastening secures it to the hair. The overall character is bridal-weight and richly composed.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0473/3314/6791/files/PK-HA4GR_2f3a9094-f873-48ed-9a5d-39b0c97d5356.jpg?v=1750137664
