We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated screw bangle from the Quartz Polki collection, featuring uncut-diamond-look stones set in the Kundan tradition with silver foiling, accented with pearl and multicolour elements. The stones are arranged in a repeating pattern across the bangle face, creating a regal, all-round presence. The screw fastening allows for a secure fit. Stone confidence is low as Polki versus Kundan distinction is not photo-verifiable.
