We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated necklace set comprising a choker-length necklace and a pair of earrings, each set with Quartz Polki stones arranged in a floral composition over silver foiling in the Kundan tradition. The uncut-diamond-look stones are backed with silver foil to lend the characteristic lustre associated with Polki jewellery. The necklace fastens with an adjustable thread/dori tie; the earrings are push-back closure. The set is available in Multicolor, Mother of Pearl, and Navratna colourways.
