We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated Quartz Polki necklace set comprising one necklace and one pair of earrings. The focal stonework combines uncut Quartz Polki stones set in the Kundan tradition with silver foiling, accompanied by AAA zircon accents. The colourway presents a dark pink palette against the warm gold-plated base. The necklace fastens with an adjustable thread/dori tie; the earrings carry push-back fastenings.
