We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A wide gold-plated bangle set with large oval faux-Polki focal stones in deep pink, each framed by a border of smaller silver-foiled Kundan work. The Kundan setting uses silver foiling beneath each stone to lend the characteristic lustrous depth of the Polki tradition. The band is richly textured with closely packed smaller Kundan stones across its full width, giving the piece a substantial, bridal-weight presence. A screw fastening allows the bangle to open and close securely at the wrist.
