We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated stud earring built around a smooth oval green cabochon focal stone at the top, set in a plain gold-plated bezel. Below it, four flat uncut-diamond-look polki stones are set in silver-foiled Kundan mounts arranged in a small arc. A fluted, dome-shaped gold-plated element hangs beneath, giving the earring a compact drop profile. The overall colourway is light green against warm gold plate.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0473/3314/6791/files/PK-E53LGR_8d51fdf8-cb55-4d97-89f0-16c2b50a9edf.jpg?v=1717155628
