We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A gold-plated Quartz Polki stud earring featuring a large free-form faceted brown stone at centre, bordered by a halo of small round white CZ stones set in a silver-toned mount. The organic silhouette and warm brown colourway give the piece a relaxed yet considered character. The push-back fastening secures the stud close to the earlobe.
