We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A layered necklace set in the Polki tradition, featuring Quartz Polki stones set in Kundan technique with silver foiling to replicate the lustre of uncut gems. The piece is finished in a Victorian-plated tone and carries a clean white colourway. The necklace fastens with an adjustable thread/dori tie, and the earrings are fitted with push-back closures. The overall silhouette is layered and statement-weight, suited to festive and bridal occasions.
