We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A pair of small stud earrings in a floral-geometric outline, set with coloured foil-backed uncut-look Quartz Polki stones in the Kundan tradition, available in Blue, Dark Green, and Baby Pink. The Victorian silver-plated finish gives each piece a soft antiqued tone that offsets the coloured stonework. The push-back fastening makes them suited to everyday wear as well as festive occasions.
