We set these lab-created stones in gold-plated metalwork, keeping the craft and the look while naming the material honestly, as accessible luxury.

Traditional Polki set uncut, unfaceted diamonds in gold foil, prized for a soft brilliance rather than cut sparkle; the setting itself became a Bengali speciality, the karigars of Kolkata among its finest hands. Mortantra keeps that setting craft intact and chooses moissanite - lab-created and responsibly made - to carry the same light. We say so plainly: the tradition lives in the setting, and the brilliance is real.

THE PIECE
A pair of Victorian silver-plated bangles set with white Quartz Polki stones in a silver-foiled Kundan arrangement, giving the appearance of uncut diamonds at an accessible price point. The stones are laid in a close geometric formation across the bangle surface, with a screw fastening for a secure fit. The cool silver tone of the plating complements the bright white of the stones throughout.
